Shahbaz

Founder & Lead Tester

I started TooledByAI because I was tired of reading AI tool reviews written by people who clearly never actually used the tools.

Every article you see here is tested by me personally. If a tool doesn’t work for the job, you’ll know it. If it’s the best option, I’ll tell you why. No affiliate link bias, no marketing fluff — just honest assessment based on real workflows.

Based in Pir Mahal, Punjab, Pakistan. I work with early-stage founders, freelancers, and small business owners who need to make fast, confident decisions about AI tools without wasting time on hype.

How TooledByAI Started

In 2024, I was helping a friend evaluate cold email tools for her B2B sales team. She asked me which one was best. I told her to test a few herself — but she didn’t have time. So I did it for her.

I spent 3 weeks testing Lemlist, Copy.ai, Apollo, and Instantly. I ran the same cold email templates through each tool, measured the outputs, tracked what worked, and documented everything. By the end, I had a clear winner for her specific use case.

That’s when I realized: most AI tool reviews are written by people who read the marketing page and called it a day. There’s a huge gap between “what the vendor claims” and “what actually works.”

So I decided to fill that gap. TooledByAI launched in May 2025 with one goal: publish honest, tested reviews for specific AI use cases. Every article is based on real testing. Every recommendation is backed by actual workflows.

How We Test AI Tools

Our testing process is simple but rigorous. We don’t wing it. Every review follows the same framework so you can trust what you’re reading.

🎯

1. Pick a Specific Job

We start with a real use case — not a broad category. Cold email sequences for B2B sales. GEO optimization for SEO. Product descriptions for e-commerce. Something people actually search for.

🔧

2. Select the Tools

We identify the top tools that claim to solve this problem. We test popular ones, rising stars, and niche solutions. If there’s a tool that’s getting buzz, it’s on the list.

🧪

3. Test Hands-On

We use each tool with identical inputs and workflows. Same prompts, same data, same goals. We collect real outputs — not screenshots from marketing materials — and actually try to use the results.

📊

4. Document Everything

We record what worked, what didn’t, pricing, ease of use, learning curve, and edge cases. We also note when a tool isn’t suitable — sometimes the honest answer is “skip this one.”

✍️

5. Write the Guide

We write a complete, 2,500+ word guide with step-by-step workflows, real tool comparisons, pricing breakdown, and recommendations based on different budgets and use cases.

🔄

6. Update When Things Change

AI tools update constantly. When pricing changes, features launch, or new competitors emerge, we revisit articles so our recommendations stay current and accurate.

What We Stand For

TooledByAI is built on a few core principles that never bend:

🎯

Specificity Over Generics

We don’t publish “best AI tools” lists. Every article solves a specific problem. You get exactly what you’re looking for, not a generic roundup.

🧪

Testing Before Publishing

No tool gets reviewed until it’s actually tested by someone who knows the use case. We show real outputs, not vendor screenshots.

💰

Honesty About Affiliates

Yes, we use affiliate links. No, they don’t influence rankings. The best tool for your situation always wins. We’re transparent about which links are affiliate.

📖

Depth Over SEO Clicks

We write 2,500+ word deep guides, not 300-word fluff pieces designed to rank quickly. More depth, more examples, more actual value.

🚫

No Bias, No Hype

We don’t have corporate partnerships. No vendor pays for placement. No tools are off-limits because they’re “not big enough.” Just honest assessment.

🔄

Keep It Current

AI moves fast. We update articles when things change so our recommendations don’t become outdated. Publication dates show when each article was verified.

What We Don’t Do

Being honest about boundaries is important:

  • We don’t review tools we haven’t tested. If we haven’t actually used it, we don’t write about it.
  • We don’t accept payment for positive reviews. Tools can’t pay us to rank higher. Ever.
  • We don’t write generic “top 10” lists. Our articles solve specific problems, not generic categories.
  • We don’t mislead about affiliate relationships. When we link to a tool, we disclose if it’s an affiliate link.
  • We don’t update recommendations based on popularity. If Tool A is best for your job, Tool A wins — regardless of how many users it has.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why did you start TooledByAI?
I got tired of reading AI tool reviews that were clearly written without actually using the tools. Affiliate marketing is fine — but testing should come first. TooledByAI exists to fill that gap.
How do you pick which tools to review?
I start with reader requests and common pain points. If I see three people asking about the same problem (e.g., “best tool for cold email?”), I know it’s worth reviewing. I also watch for new tools gaining traction and test popular alternatives to compare fairly.
Do vendors ever sponsor your reviews?
No. We don’t accept sponsorships or paid placements. The best tool for a specific use case always ranks first — regardless of affiliate commission, company size, or vendor relationship.
You use affiliate links — isn’t that biased?
We disclose affiliate links clearly. But no — affiliate commissions don’t influence which tool we recommend. The tool that performs best for your specific use case wins, period. If Tool A is best but has no affiliate program, we still recommend Tool A.
How long does it take to test a tool?
Anywhere from 2-4 weeks per article. We set up accounts, run test workflows, collect outputs, compare results, and document everything. Then we write a 2,500+ word guide. It’s not quick, but it’s thorough.
What if I disagree with your recommendation?
Contact me. If you’ve found something in an article that’s inaccurate or outdated, I want to know. We update articles regularly when new information comes in.
Can I request a review of a specific AI tool?
Absolutely. Send me an email with the tool name and your use case. I can’t promise I’ll review every request, but I read every one and prioritize based on reader interest.
How often do you update articles?
We update when tools change significantly (pricing, major features, acquisition). Each article shows the publication date and last update date so you know how current the review is. Typically, we revisit major articles quarterly.
