Every article you see here is tested by me personally. If a tool doesn’t work for the job, you’ll know it. If it’s the best option, I’ll tell you why. No affiliate link bias, no marketing fluff — just honest assessment based on real workflows.

How TooledByAI Started
In 2024, I was helping a friend evaluate cold email tools for her B2B sales team. She asked me which one was best. I told her to test a few herself — but she didn’t have time. So I did it for her.
I spent 3 weeks testing Lemlist, Copy.ai, Apollo, and Instantly. I ran the same cold email templates through each tool, measured the outputs, tracked what worked, and documented everything. By the end, I had a clear winner for her specific use case.
That’s when I realized: most AI tool reviews are written by people who read the marketing page and called it a day. There’s a huge gap between “what the vendor claims” and “what actually works.”
So I decided to fill that gap. TooledByAI launched in May 2025 with one goal: publish honest, tested reviews for specific AI use cases. Every article is based on real testing. Every recommendation is backed by actual workflows.
How We Test AI Tools
Our testing process is simple but rigorous. We don’t wing it. Every review follows the same framework so you can trust what you’re reading.
1. Pick a Specific Job
We start with a real use case — not a broad category. Cold email sequences for B2B sales. GEO optimization for SEO. Product descriptions for e-commerce. Something people actually search for.
2. Select the Tools
We identify the top tools that claim to solve this problem. We test popular ones, rising stars, and niche solutions. If there’s a tool that’s getting buzz, it’s on the list.
3. Test Hands-On
We use each tool with identical inputs and workflows. Same prompts, same data, same goals. We collect real outputs — not screenshots from marketing materials — and actually try to use the results.
4. Document Everything
We record what worked, what didn’t, pricing, ease of use, learning curve, and edge cases. We also note when a tool isn’t suitable — sometimes the honest answer is “skip this one.”
5. Write the Guide
We write a complete, 2,500+ word guide with step-by-step workflows, real tool comparisons, pricing breakdown, and recommendations based on different budgets and use cases.
6. Update When Things Change
AI tools update constantly. When pricing changes, features launch, or new competitors emerge, we revisit articles so our recommendations stay current and accurate.

What We Don’t Do
Being honest about boundaries is important:

- ❌ We don’t accept payment for positive reviews. Tools can’t pay us to rank higher. Ever.
- ❌ We don’t write generic “top 10” lists. Our articles solve specific problems, not generic categories.
- ❌ We don’t mislead about affiliate relationships. When we link to a tool, we disclose if it’s an affiliate link.
- ❌ We don’t update recommendations based on popularity. If Tool A is best for your job, Tool A wins — regardless of how many users it has.
